At Bloom true, we believe in the transformative benefits of creative expression.
Mark making—those spontaneous, intuitive strokes, dots, and patterns—serves as a gateway to self-discovery and healing. Whether you're journaling with a brush, pen, or your fingertips, each mark is a step toward understanding and nurturing your inner self.
Create marks and discover their many therapeutic benefits
Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it really means to show up for ourselves—especially in the small, quiet ways. Creative expression has always been one of mine. Not for the outcome, not to produce something polished or perfect, or even Instagram worthy - but for the simple act of tending to my inner world. In times of overwhelm, returning to paint, collage, writing, or even just doodling in the margins becomes a gentle anchor. This post is a reminder (for me and maybe for you too) that making space for creativity is a form of self-care—a way to listen inward, reconnect, and soften the edges of the day.
In this post, I wrote about the value of mark making and shared this video to inspire you and your own mark making exploration as a way to soothe your nervous system.
today, in this NEW video, I share how to make a mini mark making journal with one sheet on 8.5x11 paper, stitch it together with found papers, like packing paper, book pages and other printed papers. I used a sheet of paper from my Big bundle Foundations collection and inside my journal,a paper from my Foundations Collage Papers - the Big Bundle - 12 Black and white collage papers. These are digital downloads that are available for you to print and begin creating with as soon as your purchase is completed.
I hope that this post encourages you to try your hand at creating as a form of self-care. If you need some ideas for what to paint or create, visit and follow me on Instragram and subscribe to my YouTube channel where I offer a variety of creative content for you to create, discover and grow!
